Our Power of Authority.
To pray in JESUS' name is possible only if you are "in CHRIST." The name of JESUS represents all we know of Him from Scripture. He said, "I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it." ~John 14:13,14. In that same conversation, He reminded His disciples: "If you remain in Me and My Words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you..." A Prayer Warriors ability to pray in the name of JESUS is wholly dependent upon this relationship.
The enemy we fight uses many kinds of weapons: fear, shame, hopelessness, guilt, doubt, discouragement...anything at anytime, anywhere. Prayer Warriors must be intensely aware of this.
It is because our Commander-in-Chief knows satan's every dirty underhanded trick and sneaky ambushes, as well as our (yes, yours and mine) strengths, that He has provided us with this sure defense and power to overcome any and every attack through the militant use of "His name."
No, no, no..."His name" is not a cheap, magic "open sesame" to heaven for us to use, nor by tacking His name on an unholy desire or selfish prayer will it turn it into a worthy one.
By using JESUS' name, Prayer Warrior's are in effect saying "this is what JESUS would pray for, if He were here." Our names represent who we are. Likewise 'in JESUS' name' represents Him. And the better we know Him, the closer our relationship, we will only use His name for those prayers that we are sure He would pray and that will bring glory to His name!
To use His name means that we, Christians and Prayer Warriors, believe in all the Bible teaches about Him and who He is; His coming from heaven, His perfect sinless life, His victory over evil by His death on the cross for our sins, His resurrection, and ascension, His high priestly ministry in heaven's holy of holies, and last that He will return to take us home to be with Him for ever.
When Prayer Warriors pray using JESUS' Name, we have instant access to the inner sanctum of battle Headquarters--the very throne room of GOD! Because the 'Name' identifies us as His earthly soldiers.
The Name gives our prayers His authority. We come in His name, for His sake, not our own... One thing we must remember, to pray 'in His name' was not just recommended; JESUS commanded it: "Whatever we ask the Father in His (JESUS) name, that would He do." And each time we obey and follow through, we deliver yet another crippling blow to the enemy of darkness.
It is urgent then, Prayer Warriors, for us to battle the enemy the exact way our Commander-in-Chief has trained and ordered us to. To fight any other way is spiritual suicide.
